It's easy to blame.

Have you ever felt like someone else is always the problem? If you want an easy give-away that you’re not on the right path is when your finger is pointing elsewhere. Don't imitate Satan, the accuser. Imitate Jesus, the forgiver.

The accusing mode started from the very beginning: Adam blames Eve and Eve blames the serpent. And it’s always somebody else who has to go, to be punished, accused, eliminated, tortured or killed. So Cain kills Abel.

In the Bible this is called scapegoating. You put the blame or your sin on someone else so to feel good.

Jesus becomes the last scapegoat. He takes all the blame and does not say a word. He does not accuse. He just forgives. On the Cross he says "Stop!" to all the accusations, the punishing, the blaming, the judging. No more sacrifice... when it's the other being sacrificed and not you. "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Mt. 9,13.
