God is always love

We usually get stuck with the first idea that comes to our mind. If someone tells us something new we form an idea that usually stays forever and is never changed. And when someone tells us something different on the same point, we tend to maintain the first idea that came to our mind.

This is true in everything and about everything, including God. When Jesus came to us he knew that few will accept the new ideas that he was going to share with us, about how we understand God and how we see each other. So the first time he went out to preach, he told the people: stop thinking the way you think, change the way you think, or let go the way you think, so that you will be able to receive a new idea, a new and a good message. Or in other words: Repent and believe in the Good News. (Mk. 1:15)

He used to say: you are already clean because of the Word that I have spoken to you. (Jn 15:3) Since I told you something new and you have received it, it has cleansed the old and stagnant ideas that you had. So, the whole Bible is a flow of new ideas about God that changed and cleansed most previous ideas. This is what Jesus meant when he said: I have not come to abolish the law and the prophets, but to complete them. (Mt. 5:17)

So if the Bible concludes that "God is love", a concept that we do not find it before John the Evangelists says it (1Jn 4:8), all that have been said before it need to be perfected, cleansed, with this idea that purifies all other ideas that we had about God before it.

If in our mind there are ideas that do not agree with the conclusion of the Bible, that God is love, they need to be cleansed with this new and powerful idea. If what I have in my mind about God does not confirm that God is love, I should throw it away and allow this idea of God clean all that have entered my mind before now that does not agree with this new and great idea. For God is always love.

Aħna faċli neħlu mal-ewwel idea li tiġina. Jekk xi ħadd jgħidilna xi ħaġa ġdida niffurmaw idea li mbagħad tibqa’ fina u ġeneralment ma jbiddilielna ħadd. U meta xi ħadd jgħidilna xi ħaġa differenti fuq l-istess ħaġa, għandna ħabta nibqgħu mwaħħla mal-ewwel idea li daħlet.

Dan jiġri f’kollox u fuq kull ħaġa, inkluż fuq Alla. Meta ġie Ġesù kien jaf li ftit kienu ser ikunu dawk li ser jaċċettaw l-ideat ġodda li kien ser jaqsam magħna, dwar kif nifhmu lil Alla u kif inħarsu lejn xulxin. Allura l-ewwel darba li ħareġ jiriedka, lin-nies kien jgħidilhom: Iefqu aħsbu kif qed taħsbu, biddlu l-mod kif qed taħsbu, jew ċedu għall-mod kif qed taħsbu, ħalli b’hekk tkunu tistgħu tirċievu idea ġdida, messaġġ ġdid u tajjeb. Jew inkella: Indmu u emmnu fil-bxara t-tajba. (Mk. 1:15)

Kien jitkellem u jgħid: intom ġà ndaf minħabba l-Kelma li għidtilkom. (Ġw. 15:3) Għax jien għidtilkom xi ħaġa ġdida u jekk irċivejtuha nadfitilkom l-ideat qodma u staġnati li kellkom. Allura l-Bibbja kollha kienet mixja ta’ ideat ġodda fuq Alla li kienu jbiddlu u jnaddfu dak li kien hemm qabilhom. Dan hu li jfisser dak li qal Ġesù: ma ġejtx biex inwaqqa’ l-liġi u l-profeti imma biex nipperfezzjonahom. (Mt. 5:17)

Mela jekk fil-konlużjoni tal-Bibbja hemm li “Alla hu mħabba”, li ma nsibuhiex qabel ma qalha San Ġwann (1Ġw. 4:8), dak kollu li ġie qabilha kellu jiġi pperfezzjonat, imnaddaf, b’din l-idea li ppurifikat l-ideat kollha li kellna ta’ Alla qabel din il-kelma.

Jekk f’moħħna hemm xi ideat fuq Alla li ma jaqblux mal-konklużjoni tal-Bibbja, li Alla hu mħabba, għandhom jiġu mnadfa b’din il-kelma ġdida u qawwija. Jekk dak li għandi f’moħħi dwar Alla ma jaqbilx mal-idea li Alla hu mħabba għandi narmih u nħalli din l-idea t’Alla tnaddaf dak li daħal qabek li mhux fuq dan il-ħsieb kbir u ġdid. Għax Alla hud dejjem imħabba.
